Man, after what was a fairly mild Winter, it seems like Spring has finally arrived! 66 and sunny as I write, I'm actually even a little bit looking forward to getting out for my run... Which, by the way, I've done very diligently for the last 4 years, almost to the day. I believe it was April 12, 2012, when I began running every other day, 12 months a year, no matter the weather. While I can't say I've enjoyed it, I do feel good about getting some regular exercise. I've been running since 1997, but usually quit around November and started up again around April. Since 2012, however, 3.2 miles, every other day, no exceptions!! Anyway...
Spring is here and I've played a couple cool shows. I had my regular Honey gig a few weeks ago, and, on Saturday, April 9th, joined some former students at Harriet Brewing as a guest for their various CD releases 7 fundraisers. Maya Baglien, Lena Bredeson & Greta Melcher all played, and it was great to see them again. Thanks for having me!!
Meanwhile, work on my record- likely to be titled "Freedom On the Ledges"- continues, and I'm very excited about the piano & organ parts we recently added. Locals keysman extraordinaire Kevin Gastonguay recorded some killer parts and I already love how they sound in the rough mix. Thanks, Kevin! Next to come will be lead guitar and violin, and maybe a few harmony vocals. Then, mixing & mastering with & duplication, hoping to be done by October 1st.
Finally, and most importantly, my best friend got some good medical news on April 4th which makes the turn to Spring all the sweeter... These are good days, hope they are for you, too.
Take care everybody!!
